Brooks, McEnany Lead Demon Deacons in Wake Forest Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest track and field continued its season on Saturday in the Wake Forest Invitational held at the JDL Fast Track Indoor Track Complex.
The Wake Forest women's track and field squad took third overall 80.50 points while the men's team took fourth with 52 points.
In the men's long distance medley, the team of Alexander Rose, Michael Thomas, Ryan Horgan, and Anthony Marois earned a second place finish for the Deacons with a time of 10:17.45, just 0.35 seconds off the first place pace set by Campbell.
In the 400-meter run, Myesha Barr placed tenth overall posting a new personal best with a time of 59.67. Knous was not far behind as she placed thirteenth in the event with a time of 59.94.
Horgan was the only Deacon to participate in the men's 400-meter run as he claimed 19th while posting a time of 53.33.
In the 60-meter hurdle event, Montasia Golden secured a fifth place finish (8.86) while Martin came in at eighth place (9.22). On the men's side of the event, Malcolm Nunley was the lone representative of Wake Forest as he ranked fifth with a time of 8.46.
In the 60-meter dash, Myotia Gathings placed fifth with a time of 7.83.
Jake Graham was among the top finishers in a field of 18 runners in the 3000-meter run as he finished in fifth place logging a time of 8:49.61.
In the women's 800-meter run, Caitlin Hartnett placed sixth (2:22.60) while Martin finished 21st (2:29.09).
In the 200-meter dash, Gathings led the Deacons with a fifth place finish (25.87). Barr claimed the 11th place (26.24) while Anneve Waith took 31st (28.41). Daniel Harrison finished in sixth place (22.65) on the men's side.
Kathleen Darling took fifth place (5:11.63) in the women's one-mile run while Lindsay Kerr finished 28th (6:01.34). Evan Little led the Deacons in the men's side of the event with a seventh place finish (4:25.70).
Nate Wooten locked up fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 15.23m. Kevin Barrett earned a fifth place finish in the same event with a 14.65m toss of his own. Steve Michaelsen finished in fifth place in the shot put with a mark of 14.71m while Thomas claimed 14th with a throw of 10.27m.
Wake Forest will be back in action on January 25 when they travel to Blacksburg, Va for the Hokie Invitational.
