BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Wake Forest track and field team closed out the ACC championships on Saturday at the Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Virginia. After some strong finishes on Friday, the Deacons had several athletes competing in the final rounds on Saturday.

The women's team finished 11th after earning 13 points throughout the weekend while the men's team finished 10th in the conference with nine points.

After qualifying for the finals on Friday, junior Thomas Bojanowski persevered to a fifth place finish in the 800m run with a time of 1:51.72.

On the women's side, the Deacons were well represented in the 3,000m run with five individuals competing. Junior Kaitlyn Oliver was the first Deacon to cross the finish line placing 14th and coming in at 9:48.57. Behind Oliver were four freshmen as Ashley Brubaker, Samantha Jones, Kathleen Darling, and Meredith Kilburn finished 19th (10:00.11), 21st (10:04.48), 23rd (10:04.81), and 26th (10:07.97), respectively.

Women's Triple Jump
Senior Erin Brooks led the way for Wake Forest with a leap of 12.42 meters that earned a ninth place finish. Sophomore Montasia Golden placed 12th with a jump of 12.26 meters.

Men's 400m Finals
Daniel Harrison sprinted his way to a 7th place finish for Wake. The sophomore shattered his previous personal best time with a 48.19 effort.

Men's 3,000m Run
Junior Alexander Rose placed 11th turning in a time of 8:20.02. The Australia native received All-ACC Academic honors last season. Senior Anthony Marois placed 22nd (8:31.85).

Men's 4x400m Relay
Seniors Sean Lunkenheimer and Michael McEnany joined Harrison and Bojanowski for the relay. The four managed an eighth place finish as McEnany crossed the finished line at the 3:17.88 mark.

Men's Shot Put
The freshman duo of Stephen Michaelson and Tylor Harris placed 10th (15.49m) and 11th (15.34m), respectively. Michaelson's toss was good enough for a new personal best.

Wake Forest opens the outdoor track season on March 8, in the CCU Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
