GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Wake Forest track and field team wrapped up competition on Saturday at the NCAA East Regional hosted by North Carolina A&T State University.
The top 12 athletes from each event at the regional meet advanced to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., from June 5-8.
Kyle Graves finished 18th overall in the 1500m in the semifinals with a time of 3:49.14. On Thursday, Graves set a career-best in the quarterfinals by finishing in 3:44.12 which ranks third all-time at Wake Forest.
Alexander Rose crossed the finish line at 15:06.71 in the 5000m. Rose had several top finishes this season and competed in the 1500m prelims on Thursday in the NCAA East Regional.
Samantha Jones finished with a time of 16:47.58 in the 5000m race placing 33rd overall. Jones had an impressive freshman season in which she finished 11th in the 5000m at the ACC Championships.
Women's Triple Jump
Erin Brooks recorded a distance of 11.90m in the triple jump on Saturday finishing in 39th place. Brooks had an impressive senior season that included earning All-ACC honors in the triple jump at the ACC Championships with a third place finish and also earned first place at the Wake Forest Open. Broooks hold the all-time record at Wake Forest in the triple jump.
