JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A third Demon Deacon clinched a spot in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as Kyle Graves earned a berth in the 1,500m run on the final day of the NCAA East Regional hosted by North Florida on Saturday.

Graves joins Jessie Merckle and Katie Adair, after those two each qualified on Thursday.

The senior finished second out of 23 competitors in the quarterfinal, finishing in 3:45.01, just five hundredths of a second behind Villanova's Robert Denault.

John Maurins narrowly missed qualifying in the shot put. He finished 16th with a toss of 18.45m (60-6.5), the top mark of any freshman at the regional.

Nyki Caldwell wrapped up her Wake Forest career with an 18th-place finish in the high jump. The senior leaped 1.75m (5-8.75), but was unable to clear the next mark of 1.79m (5-10.5).

Samantha Jones finished in 36th place in the 5,000m run, crossing in a time of 16:51.12.

Graves, Merckle and Adair will now head to the national meet, hosted by the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon from June 10-13.
