WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Both the Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams were granted All-Academic status by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week while senior Paul Loeser was named an All-Academic Honoree.
To earn All-Academic status, a team is required to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, while an individual needs to have a 3.25 GPA and be ranked in the top 96 nationally to be honored. The men's team finished the season with a collective 3.10 GPA while the women's team ended with a 3.15.
For Loeser, this is one of several academic awards he has earned in his career at Wake Forest. A member of the All-ACC Academic teams in both indoor and outdoor, he was named to the Capital One Academic All-District first team for the second time in 2012.
Loeser capped off his senior year by being named All-ACC in the 3,000m steeplechase, an event in which he competed at the NCAA Regionals for the second year in a row.
