WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Blacksburg, Va., to compete in the first regular season meet of the season on Friday at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational. The women's 5-kilometer race will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Virginia Tech Home Cross Country Course, followed by the men's 8K at 6:45 p.m.

The teams competing in addition to Wake Forest and Virginia Tech will be Florida State, Ohio University, Concord, Bluefield College, Roanoke College, and USC Upstate.

The Wake Forest women's team enters the regular season ranked third in the Southeast region and receiving votes in the national poll. The list of women traveling this weekend includes: Cindy Adams, Molly Binder, Kristen Buchan, Marley Burns, Suzie Clinchy, Caitlin Crawford, Whitney Curry, Casey Fowler, Claire Hagler, Kelly Laffey, Hannah McArdle, Anna Nosenko, Dina Nosenko, Laura Rapp, Cristina Richard and Kim Vos.


 

 

The men's team will showcase many fresh faces at its first regulation meet. Freshmen Garret Drogosch, Will Ficklen, Tom Finneran, Sam Foster, Jake Graham and Howard Graves will all travel to their first-ever collegiate cross country meet. They will be accompanied by returners Jeremy Fisico, Paul Loeser, Keaton Morgan, Tom Morrison and Ben Morrow.
