Head Coach Jen Hoover:
On winning the first game of the season...
"I'm excited! When you get that first win, especially with how many kids were nervous tonight. With how many veterans we have on the team we still have a lot of kids who this was their first real game. So I'm just excited to have the win, have a total team contribution and everyone that played scored so I'm really proud of them."

On having 20 assists in the game...
"It was great to see this and shows how this team really is unselfish and really loves playing with each other and really loves each other off the court. I'm just really proud the way they shared the basketball and moved the ball quickly to get nice open and quality shots."

Sophomore forward Tyra Whitehead
On having a career-high 23 points...
"I've spent a lot of time at the gym working out and my teammates have helped me get prepared for games like this. It worked pretty well, open positions and trusting me in different spots or on the move.

On being excited when assisting teammates...
"Ivanna (Raca) is a freshman and I know she had a lot of nerves out there. I was in her situation last year so to connect on the backdoor cut and a great read, paired with her having that basketball IQ is very motivational for me and the team so I got really excited."
