WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Junior Milan Quinn posted her first career double-double to lead the Wake Forest women's basketball team to a 69-52 win over ETSU on Sunday at the LJVM Coliseum.

Quinn scored a career-high 14 points to go with a career-high 11 rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench. It is the first career double-double for the forward. Quinn was one of four Demon Deacons to score in double figures in the victory. Senior Kandice Ball scored 13, as did freshman Ariel Stephenson. Sophomore Amber Campbell added 11 points.

The Demon Deacons start the season 2-0 while ETSU drops to 1-1 on the year.

Wake Forest built a 19-point lead in the first quarter and used that cushion for the rest of the game. The Demon Deacons shot 60 percent in the opening 10 minutes led by Ball and Campbell who were both 3-of-3 from the floor. At the end of the opening quarter Wake Forest held a 27-8 lead.

ETSU got as close as 12 points, 45-33, with 3:48 remaining in the third quarter after a three from Shomari Kendrick. On the next Wake Forest possession Ball was fouled and made both free throws that started a six point run. Wake Forest took a 54-37 lead in to the fourth quarter.

Despite foul trouble and a short bench, Wake Forest kept the double figure lead and won the game 69-52. Freshman Kortni Simmons dished out seven assists and pulled down nine rebounds. All eight Demon Deacons that checked in to the game scored for the second-straight contest.

Wake Forest hosts Davidson at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the LJVM Coliseum. It is the third home game in five days to open the 2015-16 season.
