WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Sandra Garcia added 27 points and 16 rebounds for the Demon Deacons as the Wake Forest women's basketball team topped High Point 76-52 on Wednesday afternoon.

Wake Forest improves to 5-0 with the win and High Point evens out a 2-2.

Garcia's performance was the best for the rookie to date. She dominated the post, picking up 11 offensive rebounds. Overall the Demon Deacons out-rebounded the Panthers 50-23.

In her second start of the season Camille Collier put up 15 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Brittany Waters also added 19 points and six rebounds.

The Demon Deacons opened with a 12-4 lead but at the 13:25 mark High Point put up three consecutive baskets, including a 3-pointer from Mackenzie Maier, to cut the Wake Forest advantage to 12-11.

Lakevia Boykin hit a 3-point basket at the 11:10 mark, sparking a 15-4 Wake Forest run and put the Deacons back comfortably in front, 27-15 with five minutes to play before halftime. Wake Forest held onto the 12 point advantage as the first 20 minutes expired (34-22).

High Point stayed close to the Deacons during the second half shrinking the Wake Forest lead to single digits with a pair of free throws from Amy Dodd at the 7:33 mark (56-48). Sandra Garcia put up a layup at 7:07 to extend the lead to 10 points. Wake Forest went 14-4 for the remainder of regulation to finish with a 76-52 win.
