WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's basketball sophomore Secily Ray and junior Brittany Waters earned recognition from the Atlantic Coast Conference for standout performances in the 2009-10 season.

Secily Ray, a forward out of Thomasville, N.C., becomes the first Demon Deacon to earn a spot on the All-ACC team since Cotelia Bond-Young was named to the Third Team in 2006. Ray, who's started every conference game for the Deacons this year, earned Third Team honors for her team-leading 12.6 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game mark in ACC play. Ray has logged seven double-doubles in 2009-10 with a recent career-high 16 rebounds against NC State in the regular season home finale on February 25.

Brittany Waters, a forward from Orlando, Fl., earned honorable mention honors for her performance this season. Waters has the team-best 13.6 points per game average along with 5.5 rebounds per game. She put up the program's highest scoring performance since February 2006 when she racked up 33 points at Miami of Ohio on November 21.

The All-ACC team was voted on by the league's 12 head coaches as well as the Blue Ribbon Panel, a group composed of media who report regularly on ACC women's basketball and vote for the weekly conference honors.

The 33rd Annual ACC Women's Basketball Tournament will begin on Thursday, March 4 at the Greensboro Coliseum and conclude on Sunday, March 7 with a 1 p.m. championship game. Wake Forest earned the 5-seed, the team's best seeding since 1990, and will open with 12th-seeded Miami at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Tickets can be purchased through the Wake Forest ticket office.
