Raca Set for Quarterfinals of U18 Women’s European Championship

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Incoming freshman Ivana Raca will look to lead Serbia into the semifinals of the U18 Women’s European Championship, as Serbia takes on Slovenia Thursday (Aug. 10) in the quarterfinal stage. Tipoff is set for 2:15 p.m. (ET) in Sopron, Hungary.

Serbia advanced to the knockout stage following a third-place finish in Group B with a 1-2 record. In the Round of 16, Serbia defeated Latvia, 66-60, to advance to the quarterfinals.

Through four games played, Raca is averaging 6.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 22.1 minutes per game. The native of Belgrade, Serbia, has scored a tournament-high nine points in two different contests and brought in a tournament-best seven rebounds against Spain.

With a win, Serbia would advance to the semifinals where they would face France, who knocked off one of the tournament favorites, Spain, in the quarterfinals. Semifinal action would take place on Saturday, August 12, with the championship game as well as the third-place game being played on Sunday, August 13.
