Women's Basketball Unveils 2009-10 Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team has unveiled its schedule for the 2009-10 season. The lineup includes 17 home games and a cross country road trip to the San Diego State Tournament over winter break.
Following an opening exhibition game with Mars Hill on November 9, Wake Forest will host Jacksonville on November 13 and USF on November 18 to kickoff play. The first road contest is in Oxford, Ohio, where Wake will take on the Miami Redhawks on November 21.
The Deacons will have four consecutive home games to finish out November and start December, including an ACC/Big Ten Challenge game with Illinois on December 2.
On December 5 Wake Forest will travel to Washington, D.C. to battle the Georgetown Hoyas, the team that knocked the Deacs out of postseason play in the Women's National Invitational Tournament last season.
Southeastern Conference foe South Carolina will host Wake Forest on December 17, marking the last road trip before the team heads to sunny San Diego for the San Diego State Tournament December 28-29. Wake Forest will open with San Diego State and face either Auburn or Valpo in the second round of play.
Richmond wraps up the non-conference season for Wake Forest on January 4.
The Deacons will have three televised Atlantic Coast Conference contests this season, including road games at NC State on January 22 and at Virginia Tech on February 5, as well as a home matchup with Virginia on January 31.
Wake Forest will host both North Carolina and Maryland this season, the two finalists in the 2009 ACC Tournament.
The 2010 ACC Tournament will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. March 4-7.
