Wake Forest Field Hockey Places Seven Athletes on ACC All-Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- - The Wake Forest field hockey team placed seven athletes on the inaugural All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Field Hockey Team, as announced by the conference office.

The Demon Deacons had three seniors and four juniors on the squad, including Maeke Boreel, Lauren Crandall, Martha Ferger, Kristina Gagliardi, Kristi Harshman, Ariel Meyers and Jamie Whitten.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

Twelve members of the All-ACC Academic Team also earned All-ACC honors on the field this past season, including Boreel, Crandall and Meyers. Boreel and Crandall were also named Dartfish/NFHCA All-Americans.
