Wake Forest Announces 2015 Recruiting Class

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The reigning 2014 ACC Field Hockey Champion Wake Forest attempts to bolster its ranks with several new additions to the program for the team's quest to reclaim the championship in the 2015 season as announced by Head Coach Jennifer Averill.

The class includes several players who have youth national team experience as the Demon Deacons will be seeking replacements for ACC Player of the Year Anna Kozniuk, ACC Defensive Player of the Year Georgia Holland, All-ACC Team member Christine Conroe, and Tyra Clemmenson.

The recruiting class will be joining a talented program that went 14-7 last season, winning the program's fourth ACC Championship, their first since 2006, and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the 14th appearance in school history.

Emily Adamson - Midfielder - Manchester, England - MICDS

A three time varsity letterman in field hockey at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School (MICDS) ... Led MICDS to Midwest Championships in 2013 and 2014 and was named Metro League Player of the Year in 2013 ... Was a First Team National All-American 2014, member of Futures from 2010-2014, the 2013 Junior Olympics, JDH Athlete of the Week October 6-12, 2014 ... Named varsity captain for the 2014 season and earned a spot on the 2014 First Team All-Metro ... Also a four-year varsity letterman in lacrosse winning two State Championships in 2013 and 2014 ... Played for seven years with Gateway Field Hockey Club ... Club team finished first at the Festival 2013 and second at the 2013 Disney Showcase ... Former teammates include Claire Woods (Indiana) University, Alexa Simpson (Missouri State University), Casey Carter (Lindenwood), and Ryley Miller (Iowa).



Taylor Brennan - Defender - Phoenixville, PA - Spring-Ford Senior High School

Was a four-year varsity letterman in field hockey at Spring-Ford Senior High School ... Starting every game in her four-year career, named First Team All-Area Defense and First Team All-Area Academic Team in 2014 ... As team captain, was among the PAC-10 Top 10 scoring leaders during the 2014 season ... Second Team All-Area Defense 2013, Honorable Mention All-Area Defense 2012 ... The Rams were PAC-10 Undefeated Champions in 2012 and State Qualifiers in 2011 ... Named Most Outstanding Freshman 2011, Sophomore 2012, Junior 2013 and team MVP 2014 ... Played club with X-Calibur 2011-2015 and Viper Field Hockey 2007-2010 ... Was a participant in US National Field Hockey Festival and Disney Showcase event from 2010-2011 and Festival Champion in 2013 ... Participant National Indoor Tournament 2011-2015 and a Gold Medal winner in 2015 ... Received a National Club Championship Silver Medal in 2014 ... US Field Hockey Futures 2010-2014 ... Traveled to Holland 2015 to play internationally with club team ... Former teammates include Alyssa Chillano (Duke), Gabrielle Major (UNC), Simone Vagnoni (Michigan State), Marleise Emrhein (Michigan), Kirsten Mansfield (Northwestern), Megan Kida (LaSalle), Emily Nagle (Franklin and Marshall), Ashley Laskowitz (Miami, OH).

Brittany Dickinson - Midfielder - Collegeville, Pa. - Methacton High School

Earned four varsity letters in field hockey at Methacton High School ... The four-year starter was the team captain senior year and was named Pennsylvania All-State First Team junior and senior year ... Was a Mercury - All Area member from freshman thru senior year ... Named to the All PAC-10 Team all four years ... Was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer All-Area Team in 2014 and 2013 ... Played club field hockey with WC Eagles Club (2009-2013) and X-Calibur Club (2013-2015) ... A two-time National Indoor Pool Champions with the WC Eagles (U14 2012, U16 2013) and Disney Showcase Champion in 2013 ... Two-time Festival Champion with WC Eagles 2012-2013 ... National Indoor Pool Champions with U19 team with X-Calibur in 2014 and Festival Champions in 2013 ... Saw time with the USA Field Hockey youth national teams from 2013-2015, including recently with USA U19 National Team (2015) and USA U17 National Team (2014) ... Team participated in the National Futures Championship (2012, 2013, 2014), National Futures Elite (2013, 2014), and Junior Olympics select (2014).

Jule Grashoff - Forward - Bremen, Germany - Oberschule an der Ronzelenstraße

Went to Oberschule an der Ronzelenstraße School ... Played Club zur Vahr Bremen (2001-2014) and Großflottbeker THGC Hamburg (2014-2015) ... Club zur Vahr Bremen finished seventh in indoor in Germany in 2011 ... North-Eastern Champion and sixth in Germany for indoor in 2012 and named the best player ... Finished seventh in indoor in Germany during the 2013 indoor season and third in Germany for outdoor ... Rounded out her final season with Großflottbeker THGC Hamburg finishing sixth in the country in Germany for indoor 2014 and fourth in Germany for 2015 indoor ... Player for the Bremen select team 2011-2013 ... Saw action with the German Youth National team with U-16 in 2013, U-18 in 2014 and 2015 ... Scored eight goals in 11 appearances with the team.

Cat O Connor - Goalkeeper - Kenley, England - Woldingham School

A four-year letterman at Woldingham School ... Was the starting keeper for all four years, was the First team captain in 2015 and vice team captain in 2014 ... Particiapted in the Senior Hockey Cup and was a three-time winner of the Most Valuable Player Award ... Was a Sports Scholar and Sports Prefect ... Played for Surbiton Hockey Club 5 at the club level ... Signed with Ladies First Team in 2014 and was a Second Team league winner and cup finalist in 2015 ... Appeared with the U18 Premier Team from 2013-2015 and were national indoor and outdoor finalists in 2013 ... Won the 2013 Senior Goalkeeping Award ... U16 Premier Team were national indoor and outdoor finalists in 2012 and she was a recipient of the 2012 Chairman's Award.
