WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The defending ACC Champion Wake Forest field hockey team will host 10 home games during the 2015 season as announced by head coach Jennifer Averill on Thursday.

"We look forward to hosting and competing against some of the most talented teams in the nation," Averill said. "We have a quality group of student-athletes returning and an outstanding freshmen class."

The Demon Deacons will face eight teams which participated in the 2014 NCAA Field Hockey Tournament, including Duke, Richmond, Liberty, Louisville, Boston College, Syracuse, North Carolina and Boston University.

As always, Wake Forest will begin the season with the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, hosted this season at Michigan's Ocker Field. The Deacs will take on Iowa in the season opener on Saturday, Aug. 29, before facing Michigan on Aug. 30.

After opening the season on the road the Demon Deacons will return home for five of the next six games. Wake Forest hosts Ohio State on Sept. 4 in the home opener. The first game of ACC play is the lone road game during that stretch, a 6 p.m. game at Duke on Sept. 11.

Wake Forest will play its final regular season road game at last year's NCAA runner-up Syracuse on Oct. 17. The Demon Deacons then finish the regular season with three straight home games against North Carolina (Oct. 23), Davidson (Oct. 27) and Boston University (Nov. 1).

The 2015 ACC Championship will be played on University Hall Turf Field at Virginia beginning Thursday, Nov. 5. Games will be contested on Thursday, Friday and Sunday during the tournament.

Michigan's Ocker Field will be the host of the 2015 NCAA Semifinals and Final, set to be played on Nov. 20 and 22, respectively.
