WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest Field Hockey alumna Lauren Crandall, Kelly Doton, Michelle Kasold and Claire Laubach were four of just 24 athletes from around the nation to earn a spot on the 2009-10 Women's National Team. Kelly Dostal earned a spot on the 2009-10 Women's Developmental squad. Competition will begin in November, when USA hosts Argentina at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA for a five-match test series. Lauren Crandall played in the midfield and the back for the Demon Deacons from 2003-06, helping lead the squad to two national championships. Crandall and teammate Kelly Doton represented Wake Forest on Team USA at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Doton lettered with the Deacons from 2000-2003 and was named National Player of the Year in 2003. Doton earned her first international cap with the US National Team in 2005. Michelle Kasold is the National Team's youngest Wake Forest alum. Kasold finished up her stellar career with the Deacons in December 2008, helping the Deacons advance to the finals of the NCAA Tournament. Claire Laubach played with the Deacons from 2001-2004, assisting in all three of the program's national championships. Kelly Dostal earned the Honda Award (National Player of the Year) in 2004.
