July 31, 2006
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest field hockey coach Jennifer Averill announced the addition of Raisa Schiller to the incoming class of 2006-07. Schiller joins Regina Shannon, Melissa Martin, Kim Romansky, Hilary Moore and Aileen Davis to the class of 2010.
"Raisa has great ball handling skills and is very tight and efficient. She is very quick and can play anywhere on the field," Averill said. "She is excited to be in this environment that plays as much hockey as the collegiate level does and I am looking forward to see her evolve as a player."
Schiller, a product of Utrecht, The Netherlands, played for several years at the highest national level. In 2004, she helped lead her team to the Dutch National Championship and a second-place finish in 2005. A midfielder, Schiller played for several years on the first girls team with her club SCHC and has experience playing at one of the highest international levels.
