Sept. 26, 2005

Greensboro, N.C. - Junior goalkeeper Kristina Gagliardi was named the ACC Co-Player of the week after helping the Wake Forest field hockey team to a 3-2 triple overtime victory against No. 2 Maryland this past weekend. Gagliardi shares the honor with Boston College's Bob Dirks.

Gagliardi was an instrumental part of the Demon Deacons victory, making five saves during regulation and the two overtime periods against the Terps. As the game went into penalty strokes, the Piscataway, N.J. native saved three of Maryland's five strokes, helping secure the win.

The victory against Maryland marked Gagliardi's 11 straight, a streak that dates back to the 2004 season. So far this season, Gagliardi has 19 saves in 530 minutes of action.
