CHANDLER, Ariz. – Wake Forest field hockey’s Jule Grashoff, Nicola Pluta and Megan Anderson were selected to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-South Region Teams, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

Grashoff and Pluta were named to the First Team for the second consecutive season while Anderson earned a spot on the Second Team.

Grashoff, a junior from Germany, tied for the ACC lead with 14 assists and tied for third in the league with 16 goals. She also ranked third in the conference with 46 points. In addition, Grashoff delivered three game-winning goals for the Deacs this season. Her 16 goals and 14 assists are personal-bests in her three seasons at Wake Forest. She also needs just five more points to pass Tracy Stickney and move into fifth in team history.

Pluta, a sophomore from Germany, finished fifth in the ACC in points per game (1.50) and tied for sixth in goals (11) despite missing the first four games of the season while competing with the U-21 German National Team. In her first game back with the team, Pluta scored the game-winning goal in Wake Forest's 3-1 home win over No. 4 North Carolina on Sept. 8.

Anderson, a junior from Melbourne, Australia, finished second on the team with 13 assists, which ranked fifth in the conference, one behind the four co-leaders, who each had 14. She added three goals, including a game-winner against Liberty on Oct 1. This is Anderson’s first All-South Region recognition.

The Demon Deacons concluded their 2017 season with a 12-8 overall record. The team fell, 2-0, to eventual NCAA runner-up Maryland in the NCAA Championship First Round.
