Deacons Finish 13th At Northrop Grumman

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Wake Forest women's golf team carded a final round 307 and finished 13th at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Wednesday.
Senior Olafia Kristinsdottir led the Deacons over the three days as she finished in a tie for 37th at 15-over par. The Iceland, native carded a final round 78 on Wednesday.
Marissa Dodd, Mariana Sims and Emily Wright all posted final rounds of 6-over 77. Dodd finished tied for 44th at 17-over and Sims was two shots behind her in a tie for 46th. Wright tied for 49th at 20-over par. Dodd made three birdies in her round on Wednesday and a team-high seven for the week.
Sophomore Allison Emrey, who rebounded from signing an incorrect scorecard in the opening round with a team-best 76 on Wednesday. She made11 pars and two birdies in the round.
Senior Greta Lange, who played as an individual this week, finished with a final 85.
After giving up the lead in the second round, UCLA posted a final round 291 and came back to take the team title. The Bruins bested Pac 12-foe Southern Cal by nine shots and Duke by 11 shots.
Individually, Erynne Lee of UCLA, fired a final round 69 on Wednesday to claim medalist honors. Her round was the only round in the 60s on the day and it allowed her to hold-off Kelsey Vines of Oklahoma State by one shot.
The Demon Deacons will have a little less than two weeks before returning to action at the High Pint Classic at Willow Creek Golf Club in High Point. The first round is set for Sunday, Feb. 24.
