HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- The Wake Forest women's golf team had its best result of the 2017-18 season, finishing third at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. The Deacs shot 4-over during the final round at Long Cove Club, tied for the low round of the day, to move up to third place at 26-over.

No. 2 Alabama won the tournament at 14-over, followed by No. 3 Arkansas at 23-over. The Deacs, at 26-over, finished ahead of No. 5 Duke (27-over), No. 13 Northwestern (34-over) and No. 9 Furman (39-over).

"I am so proud of the team this week," said head coach Dianne Dailey. "They played a tough course under challenging conditions. They stayed committed and patient and showed a lot of grit. Emilia had another solid tournament to finish third. Our team beat four top-10 teams, which is a step in the right direction. Again, it was a total team effort and the support our students showed for each other was exciting."

Emilia Migliaccio finished third on the individual leaderboard, shooting even par for the tournament after a final round 1-over 72. Jennifer Kupcho had the low round of the day for the Deacs, shooting a 1-under 70 to finish 21st at 8-over.

Antonia Eberhard, who completed her first event of the season, finished T-22nd at 9-over after a final round 75. Siyun Liu had her best round of the tournament, shooting a final round 72 to finish at 15-over. Mai Dechathipat shot a 74 on Sunday to finish at 16-over.
