ATHENS, Ga. - Junior Olafia Kristinsdottir rebounded from an opening round 79 to post a 3-over 75 in round two of the NCAA Women's Golf Championship at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
Kristinsdottir opened the day with one bogey and one birdie on the first nine to go out in even-par 37. She then bogeyed the third hole and birdied the par-5 seventh to get back to even. Lightning in the area then halted play for just over two hours. She came out after the break and made a double-bogey at No. 8 and a bogey at nine to close with a 75.
Play was stopped again at 8 p.m. for more lightning in the area with a handful of groups yet to finish their second rounds. Play will resume Thursday morning with the third round immediately following.
The nation's top-ranked player Stephanie Meadow of Alabama followed an opening 69 with a 5-under 67 and holds the individual lead midway through at 8-under par. She has a one shot lead on Annie Park of Southern Cal.
Kristinsdottir was scheduled to start the third round at 8:28 a.m. Thursday morning but tee times will be slightly adjusted due to the completion of the second round. Follow Golfstat.com for live scoring of the final two rounds.
