Herr, Kupcho Lead Wake Forest at Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Sophomore Erica Herr and freshman Jennifer Kupcho fired rounds under par to lead the Wake Forest women's golf team in the first round of the Lady Paladin Invitational.

The Demon Deacons posted a team score of 4-over 292 and sit in third place with two rounds to play at the Furman Golf Course. Clemson is in first place with a two-stroke lead over Wake Forest. New Mexico is in second place at 3-over.

Herr and Kupcho fired matching rounds of 1-under 71. They are tied for third individually and just four strokes behind the individual leader, Alice Hewson from Clemson. Herr had three birdies on the day while Kupcho had four.

Junior Sierra Sims and freshman Antonia Eberhard each posted rounds of 3-over 75. They are tied for 24th in the individual standings. Senior Mariana Sims rounded out the team score with a 7-over 79.

Sophomore Vinh-Hop Ngo is playing in the tournament as an individual. She turned in a round of 5-over 77.

Wake Forest will be paired with Clemson and New Mexico for Monday's second round
