Demon Deacons Shoot A 302 On Day 2 Of Mason Rudolph Challenge

By Gary Petit (@GaryWFU), Wake Forest Athletic Communications NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Wake Forest women's golf team carded a second round 302 at the Mason Rudolph Challenge and moved into eighth place with a round to play. Arizona carded the round of the tournament with a 286 and have opened-up a five-shot lead on first round leader Texas. Individually for the Deacs, junior Olafia Kristinsdottir followed her opening round 71 with a 3-over 75 and is in a tie for seventh at 2-over par. She made a total of 14 pars in her round on Saturday and finished the day with a birdie at the par-5 18th. Sophomore Marissa Dodd birdied both the par-5 ninth and the par-5 18th en route to her second-straight round of 3-over 75. Dodd will start the final round in a tie for 29th at 6-over par. After opening with a 79 on Friday, sophomore Allison Emrey made one birdie and in five bogeys on Saturday in her round of 4-over 76. She is tied for 42nd. Freshman Mariana Sims opened her round on Saturday with a birdie at the first hole and she closed the day with back-to-back birdies at Nos. 17-18 to finish with a 4-over 76. Coupled with an opening round 78, Sims is 10-over par and tied for 37th. Sophomore Emily Wright shook-off a tough opening round and carded an 8-over 80 on Saturday to round-out the Demon Deacon five. Arizona's Kendall Price is the only player in the field under-par through two rounds. She shot a second round 70 and is at 1-under par, one shot clear of a pair of players. The Demon Deacons will begin the final round in the first wave off the front nine at 8:30 a.m. EST. Wake is paired with Kentucky and Georgia. Golfstat.com will have live scoring of the final round.
