Women's Golf Shoots 310 In Second Round Of Lady Tar Heel

By Gary Petit (@GaryWFU), Wake Forest Athletic Communications CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's golf team carded a second round 310 on Saturday at the Ruth's Chris Lady Tar Heel. The Deacons are in 14th place at 38-over par heading into the final round. Individually, junior Olafia Kristinsdottir leads the way for the Deacs as she's tied for 31st at 6-over par. Kristinsdottir followed a 74 on Friday with a 76 Saturday. She's made a total of five birdies in the first two rounds. Sophomore Emily Wright made one birdie and 12 pars in her round of 4-ovrt 76 on Saturday. She is currently in a tie for 48th at 10-over par. Freshman Mariana Sims had a solid opening round 75 but made three double-bogeys in her round on Saturday and finished with an 8-over 80. She is tied for 55th at 11-over. Sophomores Marissa Dodd and Allison Emrey each made one birdie in their second rounds but Dodd would a 78 and Emrey came in with an 80. Junior Michelle Hartenstein, who is playing as an individual, carded a second round 84. Host North Carolina has opened a commanding lead, firing a second round 293. The Tar Heels hold a 10-shot lead over Baylor and a 12-shot lead over Florida. Individually, first round leader Hayley Davis of Baylor continues to lead the way. She followed her opening 67 with a 73 on Saturday and has a one-shot lead Isabelle Lendl of Florida.
The final round is set to begin with a 9:15 a.m. shotgun start Sunday morning. Golfstat.com will have live scoring of the final two rounds.
