WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Wake Forest women’s golf team moved up five spots to a tie for seventh during the second round of the Landfall Tradition at the Country Clun of Landfall.

The Demon Deacons were seven strokes better from round one to round two with a 294 on Saturday. Duke retains the team lead at 5-under for the weekend and Oklahoma State is 10 strokes back in second place. Wake Forest is tied with Michigan State at 21-over with one round remaining.

Freshman Jennifer Kupcho is on the verge of her third-straight top-1o finish. She is currently tied for 11th after firing a 1-under 71 on Saturday. She made the turn at 2-over but played a bogey-free back nine with three birdies to finish 1-under. She is 1-over heading in to the final round.

Sierra Sims fired a 3-under 69 for the lowest Wake Forest round of the day. She had six birdies during her second round and is now 4-over and tied for 23rd with 18 holes to play.

Freshmen Antonia Eberhard and Ines Laklalech turned in matching rounds of 77 on Saturday. Eberhard is 11-over after two rounds while Laklalech is 10-over. Erica Herr is 8-over for the weekend after carding a 78 on Saturday.

Senior Mariana Sims posted an 80 as an individual. She is 9-over for the tournament.

Sunday’s final round will have a shotgun start beginning at 8:45 a.m. The Demon Deacons will be paired with Michigan State and Virginia.
