GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Wake Forest scored a trio of second-half goals to hand UNCG its first loss of 2016, 3-0, at UNCG Soccer Stadium on Sunday evening.

The Demon Deacons (4-0) received goals from Sarah Medina and Bayley Feist less than three minutes apart in the second half, each one assisted by Reci Smith. Sarah Teegarden closed out the scoring in the 88th minute.

The goals were the first three the Spartans (2-1-1) have surrendered this season.

"We created a lot of chances, and the only chances we really gave up were ones we created for them ourselves," head coach Tony da Luz said. "Overall I thought we moved the ball really well. I'm really happy with how we're building our team and improving our performances."

At the 54:47 mark, Smith dribbled past a defender along the left side and found an open Medina inside the box, who beat the keeper for her first goal of the season.

Smith recorded her second assist at the 57:32 mark, as the Deacons forced UNCG keeper Chloe Buehler out of net. Smith got the ball to Feist, who tapped it into an open net for an insurance goal, her third of the season.

Teegarden tallied her first goal 87:05 into the game, when an on-target free kick was mishandled by Buehler in net .

Lindsay Preston saved the only two shots on goal she faced for her second solo shutout, Wake Forest's third straight.

The Deacs improve to 2-0 on the road, the most road wins since tallying three in 2013.

Next weekend, Wake Forest plays host to the Deacon Challenge presented by The Loop Pizza Grill. The Deacs play Dartmouth on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and New Hampshire on Sunday at 2 p.m.
