FAIRFAX, Va. - No. 18-ranked Wake Forest women's soccer posted its fourth shutout of the season in a 4-0 victory over George Mason Friday night at George Mason Stadium.

Lindsay Preston earned her second solo shutout of the season, and the 12th of her career, after playing all 90 minutes in goal for the Demon Deacons (5-0-0).

Ally Haran, Hulda Arnarsdottir, Bri Carney and Bayley Feist all recorded goals for Wake Forest.

Haran put the Deacs on the board late in the first half when Monreau DeVos sailed a long ball into the box where Haran headed it in from six yards out. The Deacs would enter the break with a slight 1-0 edge.

However, the Wake Forest offense proved to be too strong for George Mason (0-4-0) in the second half. Just three minutes into the second frame, Arnarsdottir recorded her first collegiate goal. While both teams were scrambling at the net, Carney managed to find Arnarsdottir, who tapped it in from three feet out to double the Deacs' lead.

Carney then netted a goal of her own when she sailed the ball from 20 yards out into the high right corner. Maddie Huster was credited with the assist.

A header from Feist found the upper left corner of the net off a corner kick taken by Kahla Seymour in the 78th minute to bring the final score to 4-0.

The Demon Deacon defense held the Patriots without a shot for the first 61 minutes of game play. Mason's Amanda Nhek managed to get a shot off but Preston was there for her lone save of the contest. The Deacs finished with an 11-1 advantage in shots and a 5-1 advantage in corners. Feist led the team with three shots, one on goal, while Carney and Peyton Perea recorded two each.

Up next, the Demon Deacons return to Spry Stadium to face the Princeton Tigers on Monday, Sept. 4. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
