WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's soccer posted its fourth straight shutout, knocking off Dartmouth, 1-0, at Spry Stadium on Friday night in the Deacon Classic presented by The Loop Pizza Grill.

The Demon Deacons (5-0-0) took advantage of a 40th-minute goal from Peyton Perea, when she stole the ball near midfield, dribbled to 30 yards and unleashed an upper-90 strike into the back of the net.

Wake Forest handed Dartmouth (2-1-0) its first loss of the season, also forcing an opponent to concede their first goal of the year for the second-straight game.

The last time the Deacs recorded four consecutive shutouts came from Sept. 29-Oct. 16, 2011, tallying a 1-0-3 record in that span. The last time Wake Forest tallied four straight shutout victories was in October 2009.

Wake Forest's back line of Ally Haran, Monreau DeVos, Kendall Fischlein, Madison Baumgardner and Kate Ravenna was stifling all night long, surrendering just three shots, none of them on frame.

"They've been fantastic in the back," head coach Tony da Luz said. "Those five have been super solid, they're winning balls, and they're just super confident together."

Led by Perea's five shots, the Deacs took 18 total, including nine on target. Casey Cousineau made eight saves, while Deacon keeper Lindsay Preston was not forced to record a save as she notched her third solo shutout of the year.

"Everyone is super excited and super motivated," Perea said. "We have a really good feeling about this season and we're just getting our confidence up. We're building off a lot of good things and hope to keep getting better."

Wake Forest closes out the Deacon Classic presented by The Loop Pizza Grill on Sunday, taking on New Hampshire at 2 p.m.
