Wake Forest Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Wake Forest women’s soccer team was named a 2016-17 College Team Academic Award Winner by the United Soccer Coaches organization Thursday (Oct. 5).

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player’s GPA, then dividing by the number of players.

Wake Forest’s team GPA checked in at 3.34 for the 2016-17 school year. The Demon Deacons also received the award last season with a 3.18 GPA.

A total of 814 teams across both genders and all divisions earned the award, including 532 women’s programs.
