GREENSBORO, N.C. – Maddie Huster was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts against Boston College on Oct. 15, the league announced Tuesday.

Huster becomes the Demon Deacons' first weekly honoree since Kim Marshall in 2014.

The junior captain anchored a back line which handed the Eagles just their second shutout of the season.

A top-10 scoring offense nationally coming into the game, Wake Forest conceded just two shots on goal, three fewer than Boston College's previous season-low of five.

Huster also tallied her team-leading fourth assist of the season, delivering a perfect corner kick to the head of Reci Smith for Wake Forest's second goal of the game.

This season, Huster leads the squad in points (14) and is tied for the lead in goals (five). She recently moved to the center back position after spending the majority of her career in the midfield.

Huster and the Deacs are back in action on Thursday, playing host to Syracuse at 7 p.m.
