WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Maddie Huster was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 team, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

To be eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.3 GPA while being a meaningful contributor on the field in at least her second year at the school.

Last year, Huster was named to the second team. As a first team pick this year, she advances onto the ballot for Academic All-America, which will be announced on Nov. 22.

A health & exercise science major with a 3.85 cumulative GPA, Huster leads the Demon Deacons with 14 points on five goals and four assists.

After starting the year in the defensive midfield, she moved to the center back position midway through the season. The junior team captain has started every game this season.
