Pair of Deacs Named to All-Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Maddie Huster and Bayley Feist have been named to 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women’s All-East Region Teams.

Huster was named to the second team while Feist earned third team honors. Both student-athletes are earning the honors for the first time, while Wake Forest had multiple honorees for the first time since 2013.

Huster, a senior captain from Cincinnati, Ohio, started all 21 games at midfield for the Demon Deacons this season. She finished with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Huster was named to the All-ACC second team earlier this season and earned ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week for her three-point match in the 3-2 upset over College Cup qualifier South Carolina.

Feist, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, led the Demon Deacons with a career-best and team-leading eight goals this year. She started all 21 games and finished with 18 points (8 goals, 2 assists). Feist was named to the All-ACC third team earlier this season and was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 17 after recording both goals in the 2-1 victory over No. 16 Florida State.

Huster is joined on the second team by fellow ACC student-athletes Natalia Kuikka of Florida State, Taylor Otto and Jo Boyles of North Carolina, Megan Reid of Virginia and Kayla McCoy of Duke. Samantha Coffey of Boston College, Taryn Torres and Veronica Latsko of Virginia and Jennifer Westendorf of Notre Dame join Feist on the third team.

The Demon Deacons finished the 2017 season with an 11-6-4 record and made their first NCAA Championship appearance since 2013.
