WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest women’s soccer senior Maddie Huster has received an invitation to participate in the U.S. Soccer Under-23 Women’s National Team Training camp in Orlando, Florida.

The training camp is set to take place through December 4 and will feature an intrasquad scrimmage on December 1, as well as a scrimmage against Orlando City Boys DA on December 3.

U.S. head coach B.J. Snow called up 22 collegiate players and four NWSL players for the camp. Huster is one of eight midfielders invited.

"I'm incredibly honored to be asked to compete with some of the best players in the country and to learn from top-notch coaches," said Huster.

Huster will be attending her second U.S. National Team camp, as she was called up to the U-20 camp in 2015. She has also been a member of the player pools for the U-14, U-15 and U-18 National Teams.

“We’re really excited that Maddie is getting another opportunity with the National Team program after being in with the U-20s,” said Wake Forest head coach Tony da Luz. “She basically lives at Spry working to improve her game and her leadership is a big reason for our success. I’m happy that the National Team staff is taking a closer look at the great players we have here at Wake Forest.”

Huster finished the 2017 season with 10 points on four goals and two assists. The two-time captain garnered multiple honors this year, including receiving ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors, being selected to the All-ACC second team and earning a spot on the second team All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches organization.
