Jan. 26, 2008 WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After taking four first set wins in singles, the No. 21 Wake Forest women's tennis team was unable to finish with an upset over No. 15 William & Mary on Saturday, falling 4-2 to the Tribe in Williamsburg. The Demon Deacons (0-1) will look to the upcoming four-match homestand, starting with Penn State on Saturday, February 4 at 12 p.m. The Tribe improved to 2-1 for the season with the win. Sierra Poske and Sasha Kulikova teamed up for the only Demon Deacon doubles win, defeating Klaudyna Kasztelaniec and Ragini Acharya 8-6. Kulikova then tied the overall match score at 1-1 with a straight set win over No. 83 Katarina Zoricic (6-2, 6-2) at No. 2. The Tribe's 12th ranked Megan Moulton-Levy defeated Wake's No. 75 Alex Hirsch at No. 1 6-3, 6-3, just as Sierra Poske fell 6-2, 6-3 to W&M's Klaudyna Kasztelaniec at No. 4. Demon Deacons Emilee Malvehy, Sierra Poske and Katarina Reveche all took wins in the first set, but Tribe competitors came back to take the matches to third set tie-breakers. Malvehy walked away with a win over Magdalena Bresson at No. 5, taking the match 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. After a close second set loss (6-4) Christian Tara dropped the final set to No. 55 Ragini Acharya 6-1 at No. 3 singles to clinch the Tribe win. At No. 6, Katarina Reveche and Lauren Sabacinski had to stop the action before a winner was named, though Reveche held the final 2-1 advantage. #15 William and Mary 4, #21 Wake Forest 2
