Wake Forest Takes 4-3 Win at BC

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The No. 29 Wake Forest women's tennis team locked in its fifth consecutive victory with a 4-3 win over No. 54 Boston College on Monday in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Demon Deacons are now 4-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and 8-5 overall, while the Eagles sit at 9-5, 1-4. Sasha Kulikova and Sierra Poske improved to 9-3 for the year and 6-2 in dual match play when they upset 38th-ranked BC tandem Lauren Cash/Dasha Cherkasov 8-3. Ana Jerman and Christian Tara added the second doubles victory at No. 2 to clinch the point for the Deacs. In singles action, Sasha Kulikova and Emilee Malvehy both improved to 4-0 in ACC competition. Kulikova took down Dasha Cherkasov with a 6-3, 6-1 win, while Malvehy defeated Alina Sullivan 6-3, 6-3. Katarina Reveche provided the additional WFU singles win, holding Alison Wagner gameless at No. 6 (6-0, 6-0). This weekend the Demon Deacons will continue their road lineup, facing No.34 Clemson on Saturday and No. 2 Georgia Tech on Sunday.
