Deacs Continue Competition at Debbie Southern Fall Classic

Day 2 Results Get Acrobat Reader

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Wake Forest women’s tennis team continued competition at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic on Saturday.

The tournament is the first of five the team will play this fall.

Day two for the Demon Deacons was highlighted by Anna Ulyashchenko and Eliza Omirou’s win in the semifinals of the doubles flight one draw. The duo continued their impressive run by defeating North Carolina’s Makenna Jones and Chloe Ouellet-Pizer, 8-5, to advance to the final tomorrow morning.

Chandler Carter highlighted singles play for the Deacs. Carter outlasted Florida State’s Lucie Prochazkova, 6-7 (8), 6-3, 7-5, to advance to the final of singles flight four. Emma Davis will play in the third-place match in singles flight one after she was defeated by Texas’s Petra Granic, 7-5, 6-4.

Wake Forest will wrap up play in Greenville on Sunday afternoon.
