Day 3 Results Get Acrobat Reader

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Wake Forest women’s tennis team concluded play at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic on Sunday in Greenville, South Carolina.

The day was highlighted by Anna Ulyashchenko and Eliza Omirou taking the flight one doubles title with an 8-4 win over Ohio State’s Shiori Fukuda and Maria Tyrina. The tournament marked the first time that Ulyashchenko and Omirou have played together in a tournament setting.

Singles play was highlighted by Emma Davis taking third place in flight one of the singles draw. Davis defeated Vanderbilt’s Christina Rosca, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Chandler Carter’s run to the finals of singles flight four ended with a loss against Texas’s Maria Perez-Mur (6-2, 6-1).

In singles flight six, Mary Caroline Meredith earned her first win of the weekend with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Allie Samford of Ole Miss. Alexis Franco took third place in flight seven with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Furman’s Gabby Rodriguez.

Up next, Eliza Omirou and Emma Davis will head to Pacific Palisades, Calif. to take part in the ITA All-American Championships, which begin next Saturday, Sept. 30. Davis will start in the Qualifying Singles draw, while Omirou will start in the Pre-Qualifying Singles draw.

Flight 6 – Mary Caroline Meredith (WF) def. Allie Samford (Ole Miss) 6-2, 6-4
Flight 7 – Alexis Franco (WF) def. Gabby Rodriguez (Furman) 6-3, 6-4
