Davis and Omirou Win Pre-Qualifying Doubles Match at ITA National Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, CALIF. – The Wake Forest women’s tennis team began competition in the ITA/ Riviera National Championships on Saturday afternoon with a win in the Pre-Qualifying doubles draw.

In their first doubles match as partners, Demon Deacon junior Emma Davis and freshman Eliza Omirou took down Ole Miss’s Tea Jandric and Anna Vrbenska, 8-3, to advance to the round of 16.

Next up, the duo will take on the winner of a match between UNLV’s Aiwen Zhu and En-Pei Huang and a team from Oklahoma State that includes Katarina Stresnakova.

After the Pre-Qualifying doubles draw, Omirou will compete in the Pre-Qualifying singles draw, while Davis will wait and begin play in the Qualifying Singles draw.
