Wake Forest Fall Invite Draws

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Karen Forman reached the finals of the C Singles flight and Wake Forest doubles teams also made the A Doubles and C Doubles finals as the Demon Deacons continued play at the Wake Forest Fall Invitational Saturday at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
Forman topped Richmond's Katya Salas 6-4, 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the C Singles flight before defeating UNCG's Annette Rios 6-3, 6-1 in the semifinals to book a spot in the final. She will take on Mandy Brown of Louisville at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow for the title.
In A Doubles, Kasey Gardiner and Kathryn Talbert took down Anna Gerbasi and Lyn Yee Choo from ETSU 8-3 in the semifinals. They will face off against UNCG's Niltooli Wilkins and Alex Whitehead for the championship of the top doubles flight at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
Forman and Xue Zhang teamed up to reach the C Doubles final with an 8-2 win over Darien Sears and Cassie Fisbeck of Navy. Their opponents in tomorrow's 9 a.m. final will be Elon's Vivian Stavreva and Briana Berne.
Brigita Bercyte reached the semifinals of the E Singles draw with a 6-3, 6-3 win over West Virginia's Vivian Tsui before falling to Stetson's Jen Miller.
Andrea Retolaza Andrade notched an A Singles consolation win, downing Whitehead 6-2, 6-2, while Zhang picked up a consolation win in C Singles, defeating Radford's Taylor Newman 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
