#61 Deacons vs. #74 Tribe, #65 Paladins, UNCG >>
• No. 61 Wake Forest begins an eight-match home stand against No. 74 William & Mary Friday at 3:30 p.m., followed by a SoCon doubleheader against No. 65 Furman at 10 a.m. and UNCG at 3 p.m.

Wake Forest Storylines >>
• With the 4-0 shutout win over #71 Samford, and a 7-0 win against #62 Winthrop (Jan. 19), it is the first time since 2002 that the Deacs have posted two shutouts over nationally ranked opponents in the same season.
• In 2002, Wake Forest won 7-0 over #75 Virginia Tech (Feb. 21) and 4-0 over #60 Virginia (April. 19) at the ACC Championships.
• Senior Karen Forman is currently two total victories away from 100 for her career. She has 98 victories in singles and doubles combined in her time at Wake Forest.
Kimmy Guerin has performed well in her new position at the top of the lineup, with a 3-0 record on the season.
• Guerin had a great match against No. 36 Pleun Burgmans of Auburn last weekend, playing to one set apiece and led 1-0 in the final set before the match was suspended. She has a team-best 3-0 record in singles in the spring.
• Freshman Courtney Meredith has the best winning percentage in singles at 12-1 overall in the fall and spring combined. Meredith was considered a five-star recruit by the Tennis Recruiting Network when she entered college.
• Junior Xue Zhang has flourished in her move from the sixth seed to the second seed this year. Zhang is 3-1 on the season while playing on court two.

The ITA Shortened Format >>
• This format is in effect for NCAA matches before teams head into their conference portion of their schedule.
• There is no-ad scoring in singles and doubles.
• Three doubles matches will be played, each match one set to six, with a tie-break at six-all.
• Followed (after a five-minute intermission) by six singles matches, each match two out of three sets, with tie-breaks at six-all.
• There are no warm-up with opponents in doubles and in singles.

• William & Mary (3-1) jumps into the ITA top-75 for the first time this season at No. 74 spot after a 5-2 win over Penn State and a 7-0 win over Morgan State.
• The No. 60 Paladins currently stand at 1-2 on the season, with a victory over USC Upstate and losses against No. 54 Memphis and No. 67 Louisville at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Durham.
• UNCG (1-0) got its season off to a winning start, defeating Big South foe Coastal Carolina by a score of 4-3.

Women's Tennis Defeats Furman, 5-2
The Wake Forest women's tennis team claimed a 5-2 victory over the Furman Paladins on Saturday afternoon at the Indoor Tennis Center. The victory snapped a four-game losing skid for the Demon Deacons and improved the team record to 4-4 for 2010.
