WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest women’s tennis coach Jeff Wyshner announced the team’s fall schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

The Demon Deacons will send players to five different events this fall, starting with the Furman Invitational from Sept. 22-24. Junior Emma Davis claimed the Singles Flight 2 title at the tournament last season

The team will also send players to the ITA All-American Championships, which takes place from Sept. 30-Oct. 8 in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Davis will compete in the qualifying singles draw, while incoming freshman Eliza Omirou will start in the pre-qualifying singles draw.

Wake Forest will once again host a tournament this fall. This year’s Wake Forest Invitational begins Oct. 6 and runs through Oct. 8 at the Wake Forest Tennis Center. In last season’s Wake Forest Invitational, sophomore Chandler Carter made a run to the semifinals of her singles draw.

After a little more than a week off, players will head to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to take part in the ITA Carolina Regionals.

Finally, the Deacs will conclude their fall schedule at the Tennessee Invitational, which runs from Oct. 27-29 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Two Demon Deacons received preseason recognition from the ITA on Tuesday, as Davis was ranked the No. 46 singles player, while Omirou placed No. 9 on the Freshmen-Newcomer list. Omirou becomes the first Deac to ever be named to that list.
