Joanna Schultz enters her second season as a volunteer assistant coach with Wake Forest. She works primarily with the Deacon sprinters and hurdlers. Schultz was a member of the Notre Dame track team and trained under Wake Forest Head Coach John Millar from 2006 - 2010.

As a member of the Fighting Irish, Schultz set Big East records in the indoor 400 meters and the 400 meter hurdles, as well as the school record in the 400 meter hurdles. She achieved All-American honors in the indoor 400 meters and recently finished 12th at the US Outdoor Championships in the 400 meter hurdles. She plans to continue with her competitive career while assisting with the Deamon Deacons.

Schultz is originally from Holmen, Wisconsin and moved to North Carolina after graduating from Notre Dame in May 2010 with a BA in Psychology.
