Golden, Bojanowski Lead Demon Deacons at Hokie Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Hokie Invitational continued on Saturday in the Rector Field House and brought forth more impressive performances from the Wake Forest track and field team.

Wake Forest overwhelmed the competition in the men's 600m run as the trio of Thomas Bojanowski, Michael McEnany, and Kyle Eager claimed second (1:20.12), third (1:20.88), and fourth (1:22.32) place, respectively. McEnany and Eager both demolished previous personal best times in the event. This same trio was among the top finishers in the men's 1,000-meter run on Friday.

On the women's side, sophomore Montasia Golden shattered her previous best performance in the long jump with a 7.75m leap that earned the Deacons a sixth place finish in an event that included an extremely competitive trio of athletes from University of Central Florida.

Sophomore Nyki Caldwell set a new personal best in the high jump on Saturday. After a leap of 1.68m at the Wake Forest Invitational last week, Caldwell exploded for 1.77m this week earning her fourth place overall in the event.

Women's 800m Run
The duo of Caitlin Hartnett and Natalie Sukramani teamed up for the second day in a row and represented Wake earning 11th (2:20.26) and 12th (2:23.74) place, respectively.

Women's 600m Run
In an event that only saw four participants, Wake Forest comprised the top half of the finishers as senior Brianna Dekine placed first (1:37.75) and freshman Kendal Knous took second (1:38.30). It was both athletes first time participating in this event as Demon Deacons.

Women's 200m Run
Junior Mytoia Gathings crossed the finish line earning 10th place (25.25) and was followed by senior teammates Myesha Barr and Anneve Waithe who earned 16th (25.64) and 28th (28.42) place, respectively. Barr's finish set a new personal best.

Women's Long Jump
Behind Golden, senior Erin Brooks placed 15th (5.20m) and junior Phoebe Kershaw took 19th (4.66m).

Women's Pole Vault
After a first place finish in the Wake Forest Invitational with an impressive 3.80m last week, Katie Adair topped that effort with a 3.83m vault this week and finished in fifth place tied with fellow Deacon Sydney White.

Women's Shot Put
Junior Erika Martin was the lone representative for Wake Forest and set a new personal best with a 9.31m toss that earned her a finish at 16th place.
