CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Wake Forest volleyball team fell, 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-20), to Boston College on Sunday afternoon in Chestnut Hill.

After establishing a five-point lead late in the first set, the Demon Deacons (12-18, 4-14 ACC) allowed Boston College (7-21, 4-14 ACC) to mount a rally and steal the first set, 25-22. From there, the Eagles took advantage of the momentum and cruised to a 25-15 second-set victory before closing out the Deacs in the third set.

Senior Kylie Long had another outstanding match for Wake Forest, leading all players with 18 kills. Hailey Brooke McFadden led the Demon Deacons with 11 digs while Madeline Holt totaled 31 assists.

Despite leading through most of the first set, Wake Forest was overtaken by a late Boston College rally. After the Deacs extended their lead to 18-13 and forced a Boston College timeout, the Eagles won the next seven points to take a 20-18 lead and win the set, 25-22. Long led Wake Forest with eight kills and a .538 hitting percentage in the first set.

Boston College capitalized on its momentum in the second set, as they jumped out to an early lead and never let the Demon Deacons close the gap. The Eagles took the set, 25-15, to take a 2-0 lead into the break.

The Eagles held a slim margin throughout most of the third set, but with a 19-18 lead, they won six of the last eight points to claim the match.

Boston College held a .280 to .143 hitting percentage edge over the Deacs. The Eagles also had small advantages in kills (41-38) and digs (48-45).

Up next, the Deacs return home for their final two matches of the season, starting on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. against North Carolina.
