Andrea Beck Named to Academic All-District Team
Winston-Salem native Andrea Beck has earned another academic achievement

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -Senior Andrea Beck has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District volleyball team which honors both achievements on the court and in the classroom.

This is the second year in a row that Beck has earned the honor. She is now eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America team to be announced later this month. The honorees were selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Beck has continued her dominance on the court this season for the Demon Deacons. She has played in every set of every match so far and is leading the team in hitting with 342 kills. By averaging 3.49 kills per set, Beck is hitting .304 on the season while registering 76 total blocks. Earlier this season, she became the ninth player in school history to register 1,000 career kills.

A biology major with minors in Spanish and chemistry, she maintains a 3.955 GPA. Named to the ACC Honor Roll for the past three seasons, Beck has also been a member of the ACC All-Academic Team and on the ESPN All-District First Team.

This season, she was also one of 30 Division I volleyball student-athletes to be nominated for the prestigious Senior CLASS award.

Wake Forest hosts Miami on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in Reynolds Gym and will also take on No.13 Florida State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
