Irving earned All-Region honors for the second consecutive season

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Junior Nicole Irving was named to the cross country NCAA All-Southeast Region Team as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.

Student-athletes who placed in the top-25 individually at the regional meets qualified for All-Region honors. Irving was the only Wake Forest cross country student-athlete to earn the distinction this season and is one of 450 athletes in NCAA Division I to be honored.

On Friday, Irving placed 13th overall in the NCAA Southeast Regional meet in Charlotte, N.C. with a mark of 20:53.13.

The Ballston Lake, N.Y. native has placed first for the Wake Forest women's cross country team in five consecutive meets this season. She also placed sixth at the ACC Cross Country Championships on Oct. 27 in Blacksburg, Va. with a time of 20:30.6 which earned her All-ACC honors.

Wake Forest men's and women's cross country concluded its seasons on Friday at the NCAA Southeast Regional meet. The Demon Deacons will now prepare for the kickoff of the indoor track season on Dec. 1 at the JDL College Kickoff Classic in Winston-Salem, N.C.
